  • DARKFIELD is a collection of multi-sensory audio experiences that challenge the senses, exploring the depths of human psychology and perception. Each DARKFIELD experience takes place inside a custom-built shipping container and uses binaural audio, sensory deprivation and sensory effects to place the audience at the centre of a narrative completely at odds with the space it occupies.

  • The DARKFIELD containers are currently touring Australia. You can find SÉANCE and FLIGHT at Wheeler Place in Newcastle, NSW.

    From October 24, 2025, you will find the Melbourne premiere of INVISIBLE, along with the return of FLIGHT at Arts Centre Melbourne.

  • No, FLIGHT is not a plane crash simulator. It explores the many-worlds theory through a journey in complete darkness, using 360° sound and immersive effects across two possible realities.

    The many-worlds theory imagines our universe as just one of many, each branching from every decision made.

    In one reality, the journey ends safely. In another… it may get a little bumpy.

  • Try to get there as quickly as you can and speak with our team on the door - they will instruct you on where to wait for available seats. They can only fit you into one of the following sessions if they have spare seats and there are no other paying ticket holders. There's no guarantee and sessions are often full.

    Latecomer Policy:

    Please note that your tickets were valid for you session only, you are not entitled to a refund or exchange if you are late.

    Latecomers are not guaranteed a seat in another session. It is up to the discretion of the DARKFIELD team if there is availability on the same day as your event.

  • Run times vary depending on the container you choose:

    • SÉANCE: Allow 20 minutes, runtime 16 minutes

    • FLIGHT: Allow 25 minutes, runtime 22 minutes

    • COMA: Allow 25 minutes, runtime 22 minutes

    • EULOGY: Allow 35 minutes, runtime 31 minutes

    • INVISIBLE: Allow 20 minuets, runtime 17 minutes

  • We kindly ask that patrons do not leave during the performance, as it is unsafe to move in the dark and can disrupt the performance for others. In the case of emergency, we will safely guide patrons to the exit.

  • Photos and videos are encouraged while entering the experiences. Devices will need to be switched off before the show begins.

  • DARKFIELD is recommended for ages 15+.

    No admittance to children under 13 or babes in arms.

    Anyone 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • We enforce the age restrictions, and we reserve the right to refuse entry to patrons that are intoxicated or disruptive.

    The health, safety and content warnings are in place to guide decision making.

    Please review the warnings and consider whether the experiences are suitable for yourself and your group prior to purchase.

    If you purchase a ticket and disregard the warnings, you will not be entitled to a refund.
